Governor, Sago Miners' Families Receive Independent Report On Sago Tragedy

State Revenue Collections Eclipse Record Levels

Gov. Joe Manchin and State Auditor Glen Gainer today joined the West Virginia Department of Revenue in releasing final collection data for completed Fiscal Year 2006, which shows an historic revenue collection year for the state of West Virginia – a 10 percent increase in revenues; the best year without a tax increase in recent history.

Governor Announces Expansion of Children's Clothing Voucher Program

Joe Manchin today instructed Secretary of Health and Human Resources Martha Walker to expand immediately the children’s clothing voucher program limits from $150 per child to $200 per child for the 2005 school year; the latest step in the Governor’s continuing series of “Responsible Government” initiatives.
