June 22, 2005 Gov. Joe Manchin presents a $1.3 million Hazard Mitigation Program grant to the Town of Oceana, Wyoming County. At least 50 homes in this community suffered major damage or were destroyed during the July 8, 2001 flood, and these funds will be used to acquire 23 flood-damaged homes from property owners in Oceana.
